This parallel survey examines the difference in the: (1) level of familiarity in using learning technologies, (2) expectation between the students and the instructor on using learning technologies, and (3) student learning preferences as compared to the instructor's perception of those preferences.

What are the main features?

The key characteristics of the tool include:
  • An 18-item questionnaire comprising a mixture of multiple choice and perception questions.
  • Both student and instructor surveys are available in Word format to allow ease of customization.

How do I implement it?

The surveys in Word format can be administered online or on paper. It also includes implementing instruction and follow-up guidelines to the questionnaire.

What does it measure?

The tool attempts to uncover answers to the following questions:
  • Do the students' learning preferences reflect the general profile of the Millennial or Net Generation?
  • Are the students satisfied with the current level of delivery of learning technologies? What are their preferences?
  • Are the levels of students' expectations and satisfaction evenly spread, or do they vary by factors such as academic concentration or demographic characteristics?
  • Do faculty believe that they are providing sufficient use of learning technologies in their teaching? How does this align with students' expectations?
  • Do the faculty have a good understanding of the way today's students are learning?
